RD Project Engineer - extrusion

This is a newly created and highly strategic position. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and selecting new technologies, including preparing and managing the related budgets. This role will play a key part in shaping the company’s technological direction and innovation roadmap.

Job Description:

• Research, development, and support of new and existing technologies in plastics processing, especially extrusion.
• Innovation and improvement of existing company products.
• Identification of new manufacturing and investment opportunities, including proposals for new products.
• Increasing efficiency and optimizing current processes.
• Supporting the development of new company divisions.
• Managing key development projects in line with the approved company strategy.
• Coordinating activities between individual departments during new product implementation (R&D – production – marketing – sales).
• Active cooperation with internal teams (production, sales, marketing, project management, quality).
• Communication with external partners – suppliers, universities, and research institutes in the field of plastics processing.
• Managing and maintaining technical documentation related to development and production.
• Preparing, executing, and evaluating tests and samples of new products.
• Participating in defining new technologies and implementing them into production.
• Introducing new products into the manufacturing process.
• Training shift leaders and technicians on new technologies and production procedures.

Requirements:

• University degree in a technical field (ideally chemistry, materials engineering, mechanical engineering, or plastics technology).
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in plastics processing, ideally extrusion or injection moulding .
• Experience in managing technological or development projects.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, technical documentation, and quality principles.
• Experience in communicating with suppliers and research institutions is an advantage.
• Communicative level of English (spoken and written).
• Able to speak Czech or Slovak is mandatory
• Analytical thinking – ability to evaluate data, propose technical solutions, and perform optimizations.
• Project management skills – ability to plan, coordinate, and manage development projects.
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to handle tasks autonomously and propose innovations.
• Technical proficiency – understanding of technical documentation, manufacturing technologies, and materials.
• Teamwork – ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
